I know you're asking a question, so I'll try to go easy on you!

There were never any "wild eskimos". That's very derogatory to a native people - kinda like calling African Americans "wild *******" in fact.

They would much prefer that we call them by their proper name - the name that they call themselves, which is "Inuit" (as opposed to the answer above which has the spelling wrong!). There are more than 55 000 people who claim Inuit heritage living in Canada alone. Their whole lifestyle is under serious threat from Global Warming...but that's another story!

There are still many tribes of Inuit people living in the frozen north of the earth, especially in northern Canada, Alaska, Greenland and other places above the Artic Circle. Recently they have gained independence from Canada for a large part of their traditional territory - a place called Nunavut - which has it's own government and comprises about half of the province that was formally known as the Northwest Territories. "Nunavut" means "Our Land" in the Inuit language, which is Inuktitut...

Hope this helps!

Love and Light,

Jarrah

Start with the wikipedia page, then move on to the 'external links.' Don't call them 'wild Eskimos' any more than you'd call any other indigenous group that.

No one knows if there are any wild ones left, since they tend to eat scientists who delve into their territory too deeply.

They are called Innuit.

Sorry, you're right - only one "n"
