This isn't a problem. Let's put it in perspective. Not having enough to eat is a problem. Not being able to go to school is a problem. Not having a roof over your head is a problem. Having a banana squashed in the bottom of your bag is not a problem. So, don't stress out over it. Just clean it up the best you can and maybe spray a little Lysol on it.

Oh, poor dear! Sprinkle some baking soda on it, let it sit for a bit, then wipe it with peroxide. That should do the trick. You can also put a fabric soften sheet, or a paper towel with air freshener on it in it over night, to absorb both the moisture and the odor. Hope this helps

How about washing the whole thing out? There's nothing better than good old fashioned soap and water to get out stains and odors! If you can't immerse it in water, then take what you can out of it, make some hot soapy water, get a sponge and go to town. Rinse and let dry overnight.

Make a paste of baking soda and a little water, apply it to the area and leave over night, then wash out the next morning.

Try sprinkling the spot with baking soda. Only use this on the inside of your bag, as it might stain the outside. Cover the spot with the baking soda and leave it on overnight. Shake it out in the morning.

That's not a major disaster. Just throw it in the washing machine.
Add a small amount of bleach to kill any bugs or eggs that may have nested in the fabric. It won't discolor the bag.

Hang it outside overnight. Also, try some Febreeze, or wash it in the washer with some baking soda.
