I have had hives on/off for 7 years. they can come up last 2-7 days than bang, they're gone. It is called Idiopathic Urticaria meaning unknown cause of hives. I was tested for EVERYTHING that a dermatologist and Allergist can test for and they came up with nothing. I now use an Rx called Atarax and Benadryl. Also, when they get really bad, I use Singulair which is traditionally for asthma but one of the side effects is for hives. stress and prolonged exposure to the sun cause my hives to flair but often times they never find out what causes them. I've resigned myself to the fact that I will probably have them on and off for the rest of my life. Email me at raeofsun_x2@yahoo.com if you wanna chat more.

I dont believe stress can cause allergies, but a tremendous amout of stress can cause hives. I was hospitalized 1 time for that exact reason. Its like you bury all your stress and worries inside and eventually your body has to release it some way.

Yes, definately. Stress is hard on the adrenal glands which can cause sensitivity to a lot of things. Learning how to deal with the stress is can help this.
