I found my puppy at www.petfinder.com There is a tab across the top that says "classified ads" if you click that tab, and scroll down to adoptable pets..you can search by state.....these are not dogs from shelters...but are usually dogs/puppies that for some reason or another, their owners are unable to keep them. What a great way to help save a dog from being sent to the pound! I got a pure breed Pug for about 1/4 the value...just because it was a young married couple with a small child that didn't know what they were getting themselves into. So far has turned out to be one great find! Good Luck!

Petfinder.com. This is a website that lists dogs from different animal shelters and rescue groups who are available for adoption. It lists pictures and a description of each dog. If you are looking for a new dog, this is a great place to look. You can search for a dog in your area based on age, size, sex, and breed.

My two mutts are the best dogs I've ever had (Fefe is 3 y/o and Jezebelle is 10 months). They are both pit bull mixes. They are intelligent and friendly. The last AKC dog I purchased was neurotic and ate dog and cat feces. Visit your local Animal Control and Humane Society, there are great puppies there.

The humane society is the best place to get a dog. Today I called the humane society to come get a sweet large male pit bull that had taken up at my house. He was so cute but too big for me to keep. He was lost and cold. All he wanted to do is please me but I couldn't keep him. He already knew how to shake, sit and lay down. I cried when the Animal control came to pick him up. Good luck.
