I Died my hair dark purple about half a year ago, my hair is naturally blond, i want it back to its natural color, the purple colour faded from purple, to brown, to reddish brown, and then too a gingery color, and a hairdresser told me too keep dying it light ash brown to get rid of the redness but i've been doing this for months and it seems too stay darker brown for maybe a few days then it looks gingery again. I want to get it stripped at a salon but i don't know how long i have to wait since i last died it, or if it will go worse ginger.
HELP!I've had trouble with this for so long.
.xo.

Go to a good salon and they can strip it for you. Give it a week of deep conditioning most days, and then go get it done. In the future don't mess with lovely natural blond hair!

The pros know what colors to use... I don't know why they'd suggest you dye it with a brown color... the ash won't counteract the red properly since it's a home haircolor. Those suck, trust me I've used them before and am now growing my hair out.

I agree with Charlie. Chop off the colored part. You've already damaged it enough. It's only going to break and look like hay. I say, get a trim, and let your natural hair color grow back out.

I would just bleach it back. Ask a professional how long you need to waid between dyings. In my case, I just bought a home bleach kit and did it that way. I eventually had to cut my hair to get the rest of the dye out.

It is a bummer to have to deal with this. Good luck to you my friend!

ask your hair dresser if it is possible for her to mix the ash colour with a bit of bleach, that will hopefully get rid of the red pigments. i dont know for sure though. i think your hair probably needs some really through treatment. use one of those shampoos that bring out blonde pigment in your hair and condition your hair really well since you dye it so often. good luck

It seems like if you keep coloring it - it will just make it worse. I would cut your hair as short as you can take it - and let the color grow out on it's own.
