No. why would you want to date someone that young. You'll find quickly that you dont have alot in common. I mean you cant even take him/her out on a date and enjoy a glass of wine together. You wont have any mutual friends, as her/his friends are too young and your friend will laugh at you for dating someone so young. You cant met a girl/boy around you own age and enjoy there company and be more on the same mental level.

an 8 year age gap is nothing. If the guy was 28 and the girl 20 no one would bat an eyelid. in fact the guy would probably be the envy o fall his mates.
However, now add into this the social factor. She's 14, in the eyes of the law a child (in most countries at least) not yet fully matured both physically and mentally and has her whole life still ahead of her (exams, deciding on college / uni, first job, etc)
Then, finally, add in the "parent" factor. if she was your child, how would you feel at her dating a 22 year old?
And all of this is regardless of whether or not they sleep together.
Think I'm siding with the no's on this one, though it's not as clear cut asa it may first seem. Love is an odd one to work out regardless of social acceptance, maybe best to wait for a couple of years on this one till she is 16 / 18.

I don't think an 8 year age gap is bad for a more mature couple but not when one side is only 14yrs old. Thats a bit sick - i'm 24 and would'nt even look at an 18yr old but i'd have a relationship with a 30ish yr old.
If this is a couple you know why don't you suggest them being good friends until the 14yr old has grown up and actually knows what they want to do with their life - she/he might find they want to 'go out' with someone else by next year!!

Wow! Love how everybody just assumes that this is a man who's coming onto a girl child! Because women have never taken advantage of their position as the older woman, have they. Having said that, I do agree that it does seem a bit wrong. Maybe if it's a strong bond and not a sexual thing as you say then they could just wait a coupla years and see if they still want a relationship then? It's a bit of a tricky one.

No. What could they possibly have in common? A 14 yr old is a child (barely a teen) and a 22 yr old is supposed to be an adult. I'd seriously worry about the maturity level of any 22 yr old who wanted to date a kid.

no, they're at totally different life stages, a 14 year old is still in school and a 22 year old could be in a job by then and ready to settle down. if the 14 year old is female then she might not have even started her period and if it's a boy .... well you probably know how they say boys r like 2 years less mature than girls

I'd question any person wanting to date a 14 year old.. whether or not they are sleeping together.
At 14 they are still a child.. why not wait until they are older (16-17) and see what happens then..
its a little odd

No, a 14 year old is a child, no matter how mature they seem. Sleeping together isnt the only sort of sexual relations they could have. A 14 year old should be experiencing things, with other 14 year olds. Its wrong, and illegal i would have thought.

Hmm.. it relies upon. in the event that they're basically relationship for sexual crap or because of the fact all people else is relationship, that's stupid. yet whilst they're extremely mature and extremely prefer to get to understand the guy and be with them, that's advantageous. yet I truthfully do no longer think of 14-15 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous adult men are mature sufficient or waiting for a sturdy relationship. a number of them are. i grow to be 14, basically approximately 15 as quickly as I went out with my first boyfriend and he grow to be sixteen. this would not make me a ho, i grow to be basically extra mature than adult men my age and that i extremely cherished the guy I dated and wanted to get to understand him.

It's not against the law, as far as I know, but it's pretty weird for a 22 year old to even WANT to date a child as young as 14.
