How about starting with you?
She IS your mother after all....she spent a good portion of her life taking care of you, and now it is your turn to take care of her.
I bit the bullet, and quit my job ($46,000/yr) to take care of my aging parents 11 years ago because they needed full time care. My Mum died in 2000 and my Dad died in 2005. Although it was hard and demanding work, I never really regretted it.
Step up to the plate now, when your mom really needs you.

You asked this in mental health, so I'm thinking maybe she has a mental illness.
In my state, if you have serious and persistent mental illness (such as schizophrenia, bipolar, major depression) you are eligible for social services, and they will help you find housing. So you ought to call up your county social services and see if there is a any help available. You can also call up NAMI the national association on mental illness, look it up at nami.org to get a local phone number. They may have some good resources for you.
all the best to you and your mom!

Definitely recommend you contact the Red Cross as well as your local United Way...they offer emergency assistance with bills, rent, etc.

If she has only one week to live I wouldn't worry about a whole lot except comforting her. You can take care of that for a week.

if you have a methodist church in her area, they are great with that stuff. otherwise look for an outreach program in her area, they are usually associated with a non denominational church that combines with local food pantries and etc. they may be able to help her as well.
