Maybe she has been hurt in the past and is trying to protect herself. Or maybe she just doesn't want to label your relationship if you haven't exactly called her your girlfriend. If you like her and you feel like she is girlfriend material TELL HER. She probably doesn't want to step on your toes.

She may have said that to avoid making you uncomfortable. Ask her what category she'd put your relationship in for clarity's sake, and if it's not what you were hoping for ask her if she'd be interested in an exclusive steady relationship with you. Otherwise, if she resists that idea it's a pretty sure thing that she intends to date other people. It's important to communicate to ensure you're both on the same page. I would have been alittle taken back by that 'friends' comment too. Good Luck

Most likely she just doesn't want to appear stupid to you. If you have not made the initiative to ask her to be your girlfriend (no matter how old you are), then she probably doesn't want to just go around calling you her boyfriend. My fiance and I were pretty much the same way. I just came out and asked "what are we- friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, what?" -- Maybe this is just her way of finding out what you want. You need to tell her how you feel. Tell her that you don't want things to be weird after you tell her how you feel, but you just needed to know if the feeling was mutual. Well, I hope this helps.

If you can't accept it move on. People only do to you what you allow them to. Don't be a victim. It's not attractive. Instead empower yourself. If you're just friends, then go out with other women. I guarantee it will drive her crazy when you begin to give your attention to other women. And who knows, you might find that there are better fish in the sea. Good luck.

It sounds like major lack of communication, talk to her. Don't just assume you're an item because you've been intimate, a fault of many women, maybe you have to say "no were more than that" to reassure her?

Ask her about it! I don't know why she would say that. Unless she doesn't like the word boyfriend. She should of said close friend not just friends. The only way your going to get your answer is to talk to her. Good luck!

Maybe she really like you and is trying to figure out if you are the one for her. Women like to weigh their options when it comes down to being with a man. Just give your friendship some time and it may escalate to something even greater.

I think the girl might be afraid of commitment. That may or may not be the case, so you should probably talk to her about it. Maybe she wants to see how you handle that. Good luck. :D

Well it seems like she's not ready for a commitment for whatever reason. So I would just talk to her about it and see what she has to say
