It is a reminder of what Christ did for us. His suffering and death on the cross and His rising again. So that if we believe He did this to take away all of our sins and the sin of the world, than You, I, and everyone else can go to heaven.
I don't want to start at debate about the details, but it is just a matter of faith and a symbol of that faith that I am proud to accept.
The Bible says that He would lay his life down for His sheep(us) He did this out of love for us. I believe He would lay His life down for me again.
I know that if you were the only person on this earth that needed a Saviour, that He would have done it just for YOU. No questions asked. Because He loves you more than anyone in the world. Sometimes this is hard to believe because of all of the bad in the world and because of the wrong our conscience is currently convicting us of right now. Just receive it and thank Him and than accept it as truth and you will be saved. AMEN!
I don't want to sound like a fanatic, but it I hope it will help whoever needs it and is going through a difficult time right now.
Although commercial fashion has made them popular to wear by all people, special care should be taken of not assuming that just because someone wears a cross does not mean they are saved. One might miss the opportunity to share the gospel with them and remain silent if it arises. This alone would be a sad case. Good luck.

When Jesus comes back in all his glory and love, I really don't think he is going to care what we are wearing. The bible talks very clearly that it is what is in our hearts, not on our backs that matters. I don't wear a cross because I think it is making Jesus feel better. I know that he doesn't care either way. I do it to remind myself of the price he paid for me. So that if I am ever going off the path, or forgetting why I am a Christian, I can look upon it and realize that it wasn't a game, it was a serious price. If it takes a cross on my wall to do that then I don't think Jesus is going to care one bit. As long as I believe and have faith in him.

That's a good point. Under the circumstances it might be a bit tactless to be waving crosses around. Especially since the almighty is so darn sensitive about certain things. If we tick him off we might get another Noah's flood.

Jesus, when He returns, will be very happy to see the cross. Not only because he was nailed onto it thus fulfilling His Father's promise to mankind. But it is our Christian way to publicly profess our faith. Just like how Muslim or Buddhist does with their symbol. Interesting question.

Christianity is a reminder of the cross that we all bear at one time or another. Now, as far as the cross with Jesus on it. I agree. Don't wear something that he already came off on.

I think He would. Just before His return in the book of revelations there will be HIS sign in the sky, from the east all the way unto the west. All will see it. Since the cross is His sign, obviously He's not tired of seeing it if he's going to announce His arrival that way. :)

I don't think the cross will matter to Him at all. It had and has absolutely NO power over Him. I understand your point, though, but lighten up. Some people use those symbols to keep the sacrifice of Christ in the forefront of their minds.

Yes, to know we still remember, and have carried his death with us for the last 2000+ years. I'm not sure how happy he would be for the gold ones though, copper would be just as good, gold could be spent elsewhere.

I think wearing crosses is a dumb thing to do. People should see who we are as christians from our lifestyle.
Either way, people do it for all kinds of reasons, some not so bad, some dumb.

it is a reminder to Christians of Jesus' love for us...
and why would he find it offensive....it is a symbol of great love and sacrifice he gave for all who have ever lived....in order for him to be offended it would have to be something disgraceful and shameful and there is nothing of that sort attached to what He did for all of us........no I don't think he would be offended at all...
