Itchy skin - Nothing Helps?
I have an itch. It starts from the small of the back where the buttocks begins. That exact spot nothing helps, except cortizone lotion. Then the Itch works its way up my entire back.
I tried Alegra, Claritin, Gold Bond Powder, lotion from the dermatoligst, and the best over the counter products. Nothing really helps form more than a few hours. Please help I am not able to sleep.

try washing your bed clothes and sheets in mild detergent with no fabric softner. it might just be contact dermatitis. or does this begin BEFORE you get ready for bed?

Depends whats causing the itch, what's your condition?
Maybe you're having an allergic reaction to something you eat often for dinner? Maybe you're having an allergic reaction to what chair you sat on before you went to bed?
Maybe you have a mosquito bite, or have been bitten by some kind of bug? Maybe you have a bug (like a tick) that's wedged into your skin?
If you're having an allergic reaction, try taking a shower at night before you go to bed to wash off all of the pollens, etc. You can buy Aveeno products (like bath wash) that should help and I find that "Aveeno - Anti-Itch concentrated lotion" helps the itch's I get that everything else doesn't help with. Moisturizing could be the problem too. Dry skin gets itchy.
It seriously depends on whats causing the itch. If you're taking allergy med's I'm assuming it's allergies that's causing the problem. Then it has to be narrowed down to what allergy: is it food, chemicals, environmental (pollens, weeds, dogs, etc.) detergents (as you've already mentioned), etc., etc., etc.
I'm having the same problem. Could be urticaria

Microsoft has a template which might be able to help you track the problem called
" Allergy trigger and symptom table" and one called
"Allergy log"

Good luck.

For some weird reason, when I have hives or an allergic reaction, I most often itch at night. And yes, nothing really helps. Before I discovered what was causing it, I kept throwing out blankets and bedding thinking that it had become "contaminated" with some kind of bug or something. ha. You may need some allergy testing to discover the cause. Good luck!

When did you last vauum your mattress? Do it once a month to reduce dust mites!
Do you wash your mattress pad and sheets in hot water every week? It's the only things that kills the dust mites.
Your doctor should have ordered lab tests for you. With one tube of blood they can tell you what you are allergic to. That should help in addressing the problem.
If you have not been to a dermatologist for a follow up visit, go back!! Obviously you still need help!

You might want to start using Cetaphil (it helps restore the natural moisture barrier in your skin) instead of soap when you bathe/shower, also an oatmeal bath might help calm it down. The best lotion I have ever used is Nivea original formula. Good luck with you, that would drive me nuts.
The trick with having soft healthy skin is being consistent.

I've noticed that sometimes I notice a dry-skin itch more at night. Have you tried drinking water before going to bed?
Or there might be actually something in your matress. Either get a new one, or get a hypo-allergenic cover for the one you have.
Good luck!

Eczema patients can avoid scratchy fibers for softer ones like bamboo, cotton, or silk, which are gentler on the skin. Opting to buy organic fibers can also be a wise, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative. Learn here https://tr.im/rvIvT

it could be the sheets (from laundry detergent), dust mite allergies, even bed bugs (not trying to freak you out- youd probably know if it were bug bites, but just in case though!)
