People respond differently in church services depending on their personality and the experience they are having in that service. Jonathan Edwards, a leader in the often emotionally charged "Great Awakening" of the 18th century maintained that emotions and "bodily effects" (trembling, falling etc.) were not reliable measures of the working of God's Spirit one way or another. Such phenomenon, he insisted, can indeed by evidence of the Spirit's working but the Spirit may also work apart from such phenomenon being present. Neither the quiet nor the loud are necessarily more spiritual and neither are necessarily less spiritual. As long as biblical instructions regarding doing all things decently and in order are observed it seems best to leave such things to God and the individual.

Maybe use a different word than scream,,when you go to a ball game, some people cheer, clap, and shout. Others do not. Some, being a christian is a victorious way of life, redeemed, blessed. They KNOW God's presence or happy to see God do a work in someones life.

For the same reason some flowers smell wonderful, and others have no smell; for the same reason some birds are clothed with beautiful plumage, while others are colored with dull feathers.... GOD likes VARIETY in His creations. Some of us are very animated and vocal, others are more reserved and quiet. As long as we worship in spirit and in truth, what's the diff?

Sometimes, I wonder if people cry and scream, in the hopes that someone will "see how much faith they have in God and the Holy Spirit".

In other words, if they are "ACTING" and not really feeling anything from God.
