of last year has been having problems with her reflex, food coming back into her mouth she is 19, going to college and can barly consentrate on her studies. She has become consitpated too. The medicines the doctor has her on are Nixium, Zelnorm, and merilax, and she also takes off the counter laxtives by mouth because she feels she can have a somewhat of a bm which is usually dribbles and sometime hard little pebbles. She also works out almost every day and can't figure out why she has this small pouch, she keeps telling me it's stool in there, why the Dr.s can't see that. She is going for a colonoscopy in a month to see if there's someting going on at that end, by the way I have Crohns diease, which is more likly she might have Ibs. Is any one else having this going on, if so what have you done about it, maybe we might have to go down different av. Oh yeah she also burps every 5 mins or so. I do wish we could figure this out, she hasn't been able to eat normaly for 3 or 4monthsThanks

I wonder if she is bulemic and now it is catching up with her.
as for the pouch on her tummy, that is not stool, that is a small fat pad that every woman born has, it takes major abdominal exercise to get rid of that. As for the constipation, does she drink enough water, the human body requires at least 2 liters of fluid a day. Just some thoughts that occured to me.

Sorry -I have no experience w/a lot of what you are describing. But there is one thing I am able to help you/your daughter with -she should stop taking laxatives!
While OTC laxatives are Ok once in awhile, with long term use they will actually cause constipation.
Try encouraging your daughter to add more fiber to her diet -foods such as cerals (look for ones high in fiber), veggies, and non-tropical fruits (like apples, pears, plums, etc.) She should also be sure to drink plenty of water & get regular exercise. All of these measures will stimulate her bowels & promote normal stools.
If she wants to take something extra, she should take a fiber supplement such as Metamucil, Konsyl or Citrucel. These will help her and work w/her body. They are much more effective than and healthy than laxatives.
Good luck w/everything else.
