Just use the disk copy program that came with your CD burner.
Windows 2000 can be copied and the copy WILL act as a boot disk.
If it does NOT boot from the copy make sure in the BIOS the boot order is... CD first boot Hard Drive (HDD) second boot.
If you want.. on the Windows 2000 disk there is an option to make Floppy boot disks. Look for make boot disks option on the CD. It will take 4 floppy disks.

How do you do that? You do it illegally. When you (presumably) purchased Windows 2000, you bought the license from Microsoft to install and use that copy of Windows on ONE machine at a time. If you copy the CD (Which if you don't know how to do now, you certainly won't on your first go) then your license serial number will not work and the copy that you are running will be a pirated copy. By using licensed Microsoft software, you ensure that your products are fully supported, reliable, and that critical updates are available when needed. However, if you run a copied version, not only will you get no support or help if the copied one goes wrong, but Microsoft have the rights to both revoke the original license and to take you to court under international and local law.
Now, if you still want to copy this Microsoft software, don't. But, you can download Windows keys from other places that will work with your CD. You don't need to copy the CD, you can install Windows a second time with it, only you need another key. Search the internet for them - but remember, pirates will try to hack your machine in the process, and is it really worth it, when you could buy a used Windows 2000 disk for next to nothing?
Hope that helps,
Simon H

Use Nero or some other burning software to make an exact disc copy. It will copy the disc and burn it exactly the way it is. It should boot up when you try to use it.
