I assume you mean when one is deployed...simply being in the military is no reason to abstain or have an open marriage.
It depends on the couple. A lot of marriages cannot handle being 'open'. Jealousy and insecurity come into play. If both parties can't handle being chaste for a few months or more then perhaps they'd best look inward (as to why).
If they choose to be "open" it's their business, but tends to be a death sentence for the relationship more often than if they'd decided to be swingers together.

Like alot have said here, depends on how much u love & are committed to each other. Also agree with that's why there r toys. Also u don't say if ur married? If u r then u made a commitment to that other person. I also agree that a open relationship doesn't work for the most part it just invites trouble.........

Faith hope and love are the ONLY things really keeping a soldier in one piece mentally whilst they're "over there" so to speak. Yes, of course both people are going to get aroused and, well, horny. This is why the good Lord G-D allowed people to make artificial "personal lubricant" and plastics! Yes, it is realistic as well as ethical.

If you are in love and you plan to be together in a relationship why screw it up for some pleasure from another person.. your commiting yourself to your partner, then yeah wait till they come home, that is why they made toys to entertain yourself in the absents of your partner.. (cheating will just make it to where there is no trust in your relationship and it won't work).

YES, I think abstaining from sex is definetly possible. I am in the same position. Yet, its not hard for me, because there are other things in life to do, than to do "it" all day. I keep myself busy... so it barely crosses my mind.

As for me open relationship is nonsense, especially for womens.I think we better give our womanhood only to the man we truly love so there will be no regrets whatever happens

There's no good reason to abstain. Enjoy your life, you only get one.
Note that abstaining is different than being faithful to your partner. Cheating is bad, mmmmkay?

Well there is nothing wrong with it, but realistic, I have heard too many negative stories on that subject to even start counting. So don't count on it.

I do not know about you. But it can if your love is that strong. Open relationship depends on how open you want to be.
