It could depend on the quality of the canned food she has been eating. At least she has been kept well hydrated which should mean her kidneys are in better shape than cats who eat nothing but dry food.

Dry food does not "clean the teeth". When you eat a bag of corn chips your saliva mixes with it and sticks to your teeth too even if you drink some soda with it to wash it down. All commercial cat foods are not "good" for a cat's teeth. Unless you brush them regularly (something 99 and 44% of people do NOT do) your cat should have her dental health evaluated by a vet and professional cleaning may be necessary.

The way to have a cat with lovely, healthy teeth is to use raw food in chunks with bone. That is how nature takes care of the cat's choppers. Feline dental health can also have a genetic component, just like with humans' teeth.

Why, nothing. A cat hat chooses to eat only wet cat food will not have her health impaired becuase of it, unless the food was tainted or very poor quality. My 9 yr old cat prefers wet food to dry food but will eat both.

maybe nothing maybe something
if you want to know try this
provide water and 2 diferent kinds of DRY cat food ONLY for 3 days. if you cat has not eaten any dry food by then give it one meal of wet food but leave the dry food there as well. wait 3 more days and if your cat still refuses dry food get rid of the dry food-give it to a shelter and don't feel guilty anymore, you gave it options.

If she is 12 and in good health, I would say it hasn't done much harm to her health. My vet recommends against feeding my cats dry foods - he says that cats need more protein and dry food is mostly carbs. It is ok for them to eat it occasionally, like it is ok for humans to eat potato chips occasionally. I wouldn't worry about it, but if you do, call your vet.

I do not believe it has hurt her basic health. But it could take a toll on her teeth. Chewing is a natural for Kittie, and it also helps clean the teeth. Other than that, I can't believe any harm to be done.

Wet food isn't the best for her teeth (unless it's raw meat chunks and raw meaty bones) and unless it's one of the brands on the recall list i'm sure your cat is just fine.
