i see that there are still very fit teens out there. They're the ones who play sports and not xbox. The fit ones were never the ones who debated which will be better ... XB360 or PS3.

There are many (and the per capita is gaining each year) who are just way out of shape. In stead of playing outdoors, they're addicted to Halo, Dungeons and Dragons, and World of Warcraft (or whatever it's called). halo is pretty much the greatest game in the world but children/teens should be outside.

And it's not the teenagers I worry about as much as it is late teens early twenties...that's when people let themselves go. Including myself!

Good luck

No they are not as physically fit as they "need" to be. Not with all of the technology we have, which advances every year.
There is always the easy way out of something these days. Liposuction, remote controls, welfare system, manipulation, cars, esculators ,elevators, walkalators, steroids, etc so much more i'm sure everyone can think of something that i haven't mentioned. Todays teens aren't as fit as "back in the days". I'm an example!

Dr. Robe is so right he said what I left out, what i didn't put in but what i was thinking and wanted to say.
PS. Callie is so right too. All of what i know just didn't want to be long winded hehe

Define "physically fit"?

Are they more active--some are. Some aren't.

Are they healthier--NO. So many teens compare themselvse to the size zero models of Hollywood. Whatever happened with wanting to be a HEALTHY size?

Personally I think that if a teen isn't into sports of some sort, the internet has put a damper on teens being physcially fit. Compared to 10 years ago, the fitness level has dropped.

most kids are over weight. I am 15 and like to go outside but everyone else in the neighborhood stay inside. My neighbor is 9 years old and he weighs over 100pounds. then another all he eats is take out and never touches veggies. Technology played a huge role in why some many teens are lacking exercise. also parrents allow there kids to eat junk and sit in front of a computer instead of making then go outside and play on a nice sunny day

Just go outside into the streets and look around. Many of these kids are overweight, and some are very obese. I'd estimate the percentage of fit kids in America is around 30-35% at best.

Not in their wildest dreams. I can take my team from the 1970's, and pit them against any team of the same age for a 3 hour game, any game, and my team from the 70's would outlast todays teens in a heartbeat. Today's teens are adddicted to electronics, and the silver platter. Back when, we earned what we got.

No! More kids are overweight than ever just like the rest of the population. My son who is 15 would much rather play on the computer than to hang around outdoors with his friends.
When I was growing up we didn't have the technology to keep us indoors.

As long as your exercising 30-60 minutes a day, eating healthy foods(fruits, veggies, yogurt, nuts, whole weats, fish, ect,.), and have a good self-confidence., they don't have to worry.

Usually your body at that time is changing so much you can never tell when your physically fit....
