Because satan is the ruler of this system of things and they are following his lead. They are "lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God" 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

I think there's a couple reasons--

Expectations have changed for a lot of people- "test driving" the sexual aspect of a relationship is almost status quo.

Beliefs have changed- Not everyone feels that the Bible is the ultimate ethical guide anymore. Many believe that the definition of right and wrong is subjective, not as black-and-white as it used to be...

There's also been a huge shift in priorities. Delayed gratification is almost unheard of, and everything is instant- gratification, feedback, any kind of reward for behavior, even communication! Many simply haven't bothered learning the wisdom in waiting... for anything.

Personally, I will always be glad I waited to have sex til after I married. The baggage that often comes with pre-marital sex was just not worth the "It feels sooooo good" to me.

One - a lot of people don't even believe in the Bible.

Two - some that do think it's outdated and that the counsel and commandments don't apply to today. Even though it's so not outdated.

Three - And some actually don't have premarital sex (they heed what's in the Bible) not only that, they see the importance of abstaining from it. Some people actually don't like STD's and having children out of wedlock - seeing that it is fornication and something disapproved by God.

Four - on divorce: if the grounds for divorcing are adultery, then it's okay to remarry. If it for say, "He doesn't love me anymore," then that's not scriptural grounds for divorce, and therefore displeasing to God.

Yes divorce is not part of god's plan but he gave conditions for divorce int he bible. In the bible it says the only condition for divorce is if your spouse commits adultery. The reason why people have sex before marriage is bcause people dont even believe that there is a god. People think that this is it, when you die your gone and they think that they can live recklessly. But what you do on earth effects where your gonna be in the after life. God lives and PRAISE JESUS!!!!

Because they don't like commitment. Sex is suppose to be between a married man and a married woman. The Bible talks about things like these. There is nothing you can do about it. I don't judge others but it doesn't mean that I agree with them!!

because people like to pick and choose what they wish to follow.eat of the seed bearing plant and fruit bearing tree,it says, but who does that much, with all the junk food around?
they never did anything on Sunday,no buying anything because that would mean someone would have to work Sundays.they ate right.put nothing bad in there bodys.no ones ever been divorced in all my extended family.they had love in there hearts for people and God.and so much more.
My parents and grandparents were true Christian's who never put anyone down.
I wish i had truly followed Christs teachings when i was younger

Because many people don't believe in the Bible, and because it's an extremely powerful drive that can lead to good feelings. It's like saying, "Don't eat chocolate." Also, in this day and age, people tend to develop professionally before they marry, so that means people are marrying in their twenties and thirties. It's hard to hold out that long!

Well, YOU PEOPLE DON'T GET IT!
Not all people are CHRISTIANS, like you, so we don't have to follow your "bible".
Also, not allowed to remarry, or divorce?
Say there is a woman with a very abusive husband that beats her, and threatens her.
She can't divorce?
According to your book she should just let him beat her until she dies, and that will be the right thing???
And what if theres a woman, that made a mistake and married the wrong guy, and she divorces him, and then she meets the man of her dreams???
She can't marry him?

RIDICULOUS!

I think many people have sex out of marriage because they think they have to. If they don't have sex the other person will not love them or like them as much. It is not popular to practice abstinence. Because they do not feel waiting will have any benefit to them. There are many reasons.
I think people would be much happier if they waited. I wish I had, I am blessed my children believe in purity.

The bible also says I can beat my slaves, too bad we've become godless and abolished slavery.

Edit: Where does the bible say sex before marriage is wrong? It says adultery is wrong, adultery isn't sex before marriage.

You wouldn't buy a car without test driving it would you? Of course not. So, you're maybe gonna have your spouse longer than your car, right? Therefore, a test drive is the least that is called for, seems to me.
