I dyed my hair brown, how long before I can go back blonde?

I've had medium blonde hair all my life, recently I dyed it dark brown. I hate it, how long before I can lighten it back to blonde w/o damaging?

i agree that a few months would be best. Since you are a natural medium blonde around a level 7-8, this means that you do not have the pigment that a dark brown haired person may have. So when you add a artificial pigment to ur hair, it will not hold for as long as you think. Dont get too discouraged, just wait till it starts to fade which will start soon.

Oh, that stinks. That is why I have never dyed my hair. I know too many people who have gotten it mixed up. Well, I know for a fact it takes at LEAST a few months, because I have a friend waiting for hers to go back, too. I'm not sure if it's possible to dye over a dye, but maybe you could dye the brown blonde.

Depends if you want it to go back naturally, or if you only used "semi" perminent hair dye. If you want it to grow back naturally it depends on how fast your hair grows... but it might look silly having half blonde hair and half brown....if you know what i mean.... if you used semi perminent hair dye then it should come out in 5 months.. i would wait a month or so before chemically dyeing it back.

A long time, like about a year. You will have to keep getting lighter brown highlights until it is fair enough to go back to blond.

If you are serious about wanting to go back to blonde. Then go to a salon with a haristylist that you trust. Tell them you want your hair stripped back to your normal color and
WA LA good as, well, blonde!

I would wait about 3 months, people that already have light hair and go dark, the dye starts to fade anyway,
