I don't know how many, but he killed people.

These laws were for the Jews - do not murder another Jew is what it meant, anybody else was fair game.

How then are we all under the Law of Moses?

Actually .... the correct translation of that commandment is "You shall not commit murder."

David did commit murder at least one time by sending the husband of a woman off to war when he knew there was a great chance he'd die in battle.

As for these laws being just for Jews, well, Jesus moved them on to the level of being for even the Gentiles so now they are for everyone.

I have been told that there is some differentiation between kill and murder. Apparently, according to some Christians, killing people is not murder if you have a reason to kill them. Of course, every rule has an exception, abortion is always murder with or without a reason.

Do Christians ever realize how silly they sound when they say these things?

The 1st of the Commandmenst is to Love God with all your heart, mind, soul & strength. King David did that.

King David had to be a man of war. Only because there are wars between nations. Righteous war is for protecting your own nation or innocents of other nations. People get killed in war, & some wars are righteous.

We are NOT all under the Law of Moses.
That was a set of laws given to Israelites, or Jews.
Are you Jewish?
Even at that, Jesus put an end to that law ....more accurately: fulfilled it.
Romans 10:4.
David did kill people.
Not willy-nilly, but he was a warrior.
For that reason God did not allow him to oversee the construction of the temple.
However, he killed. The 10 commandments speak of murder.
Even in law circles today, there is a shade of difference.

It means murder. David, a man after Gods own heart killed his enemies in war.

Maybe King David's courthouse didn't prominently display the Ten Commandments.

Take a class in Hebrew 101

The Commandment says: "You shall (will) do no murder"

That's not the same as "thou shalt not kill".
