I have a crush on 1 of my guy friends, but he is dating this girl named Kate. I never met her but she sounds really nice, well neway i found out last friday that he broke up w/ her! I played dumb 2da because he is wierd when it comes 2 that sort of thing he prefers 2 tell ppl things personally. so neway 2da when eva i brought up his girlfriend he would pretend they r still going out but he has told every1 else that they r broken up
why would he do that?

1. He is using reverse psychology, in which he thinks that girls are more interested in guys who are attached. Yeah, I know, it seems illogical but some guys think that girls will assume that a guy is not worth it if no girl is with him.

2. He wants to make you believe that he is unavailable because he has no interest in you.

My guess is he doesn't want to date you or any other woman @ this point. Do yourself a favor; don't do this to yourself. Go find a guy that isn't going through a breakup and stop worrying about something you can't control. As a guy who has dated for a while I can tell you; when I leave one relationship; the last thing I want is another. At that point, it's time to lift more weights, do more cardio, tan by the pool and have some alcohol induced comas with the boys on the weekend. I love women, but I hate them when there's a breakup. The only thing a man wants after a breakup is to have meaningless sex, and do anything to forget about the ex.

I could be wrong and I know this isn't what you want to hear I am sure, but it sounds like somehow he found out you do in fact have a crush on him and he doesn't want go out with you. So instead of being forthright with you, he is delaying the inevitable by telling you he and she are still together. Now lets think about that a moment. Lets say for instance that I am right, and that is what is going on...is this really a guy you want to go out with or could you perhaps do better? Not saying is a bad guy but somehow i think you deserve better...what do you think?
