I was wonderin if anyone knew the laws for knives in Baja California. I'm going down there for a camping trip and I was wondering if I would have any problems bringing a couple knives. They are more on my list of tools to bring down there, but I just want to make sure I don't go to jail or something for bringing a 5 1/2 in blade on a knife.

Knives are perfectly legal in Mexico- as long as you're not showing them off like weapons. Guns are a different story, but I camp in Baja all the time and always have knives, axes, fireworks and booze and I never have a problem at the army check points. Just don't do anything stupid and you won't have to worry about going to jail.

You should be Okay if you don't walk around in the street carrying it on your body. If you are stopped and searched, just tell them it is part of your camping equipment.
If anybody gives you more problems, they want a payoff. . .alias Mordido. Just give the cop $20 and tell him to go home and buy his wife some flowers!
