Main reason is to get a Democrat in the White House...the scary thing is they do not care how it is done, just that it happens...if they can find fault in everything that this administration does, they feel the closer they are to the "prize"...that is why you are seeing all these little bitty things that the Media is trying to pass off as important and the Liberal Parrots on here that repeat them word for word, day in and day out...The Liberals and Democrats want to rule the country and if it puts Americans in danger, well at least they are in charge now...the major probelm I find is that they have no ideas of their own except retreat...very sad I think...

By your line of logic, are we going to "kill all the terrorists" in every country that harbors them? If so, we're going to be in Iraq and then headed into a bunch of other countries as well.
Although there are now terrorists in Iraq (this really wasn't such a big problem before the war), Iraq is certainly not the forefront of terrorism in the middle east. The fact of the matter is that our presence in Iraq ensures that there will be a never-ending line of recruits to the terrorist cause. I wish this were not the case, but I honestly believe that despite our best efforts we will never kill all the terrorists, nor will we ever win their hearts and minds. In addition, the Sunni and the Shia and the Kurds will never hold hands and sing "Kum Bah Ya" either. Just not going to happen...
At this point, this liberal says we need to stay in Iraq until the job is done, but also need to investigate the idea of perhaps doing the job differently in order to speed up the process. Demanding accountability from the Iraqi government in regard to their troop and police levels is not an unrealistic expectation...simply investigating the idea of separating the Sunni, Shia, and Kurds into separate districts should not immediately be ruled out....And a phased withdrawl into Kuwait (so we can still go back in if needed) to perhaps see how the Iraqi people deal with less rather than more US troops should be pondered by our leadership.
If our goal is to simply kill all the terrorists, you can count on 10 years+. That's not the answer.

Um, hello, the terrorists already HAVE attacked "here at home". Are you a hermit or do you have TV and have heard of that little thing called, oh, I don't know, 9/11? That's why we invaded Iraq, dufest. My cousin was killed in Iraq, fighting for a cause she didn't necessarily beliv in, and for a war that still hasn't ended or created any type of resolution. I mean, it's not like we only invaded because Bush wanted control of the oil there. Of course not. And it's not like hundreds of troops have died fighting there in a war that lasted longer that WW2. Sure.
And you think that withdrawing is giving up? We shouldn't still be in Iraq. No WMD were found, Saddam is gone, and we've handed over control of the government to the Iraqis.
And your stupid conspiracy theory, well, go tell it to Elvis, cuz he must still be alive. Pres Bush is gone (thank god) in 2008, and the libs already have control of the House. Why would the sane half of the country want americans to die? oh no, wait, that's the republicans, cuz we're still in this stupid war.

We've got better uses for our taxpayer money, like shoring up Social Security and cutting local taxes and fees. It's clear no matter how long we stay the Iraqis won't like us, and there won't ever be cheap oil because of Iraq.
Foreign fighters will never stop coming, because neighboring countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran, Syria, Jordan will keep providing foreign fighters and resources for insurgency and civil war until US troops leave forcing the Shiite and Sunni get serious to settling down.
"Terrorism" is Iraq's problem, to be solved by Iraq. When did everyone's terrorism problem become ours? If terrorism was a serious concern, US military invading and occupy the Pakistan tribal lands to finish off Taliban and OBL, makes much more sense than sticking 85% US military power swatting flies in Iraq.

Could it be because they are more concerend about the number of bodybags being carried off C17's knowing it is an unjust and illegal invasion by US Forces in the first place?
Your question SHOULD be..
WHO ARE STILL SCREWING UP?
Answer - US troops I'm afraid, because they refuse to acknoledge that it is a SECTARIAN WAR in Iraq today, and even WORSE.. they DELIBERATELY REFUSE to heed the advice of British troops - who have 35 YEARS experience of a SECTARIAN WAR in Northern Ireland.
If you want to stop seeing so many bodybags being carried off C17's, PLEASE, get your guys to LISTEN and LEARN from those with 35 YEARS of experience .. advice that is given freely then ignored.
For the benefit of furthering your education about SECTARIANISM I give you the definition from the Oxford Dictionary -
Sectarianism - n - Body of persons agreed upon religious doctrines, different from those of the established or orthodox Church, from which they have separated. Followers of a certain philosopher or philosophy or SCHOOL OF THOUGHT IN POLITICS.
American troops HAVE NO EXPERIENCE of SECTARIAN WARS.
British troops have 35 YEARS EXPERIENCE
Go figure it !!
Why do American troops BELIEVE they know best and to hell with the rest?
USA asked the coalition forces for thier help, yet troops on the ground are fighting against what experience they have to bring to the table. WHY?
Think on...
WERE UK to withdraw thier FIGHTING TROOPS ON THE GROUND out of Iraq and Afghanistan, and leave a contingent of say 100 troops in an advisory, or basic construction/engineer capacity ONLY, how long do you think the rest of the Commonwealth troops would remain on the ground in a fighting capacity? ie Canada, Australia etc
Get your troops to LISTEN and ACT UPON the advice based on 35 YEARS experience from British troops America - please before it's too late.

The problem is, there never was as many terrorists in Iraq prior to the attack. Saddam didn't like religious extremists.
But now, by "liberating" Iraq and by killing civilians, the USA is creating a new breeding ground for terrorists. 10-15 years from now, Iraqis will try to seek revenge from the imperialist country that invaded them and killed innocent citizens indiscriminately in the search for one man completely unrelated to Iraq.

What a silly statement: how are you going to "kill all the terrorists"? I want troops withdrawn from Iraq because I don't feel that any American soldiers should be sacrificed for this pointless expression of Conservative idiocy. My question would be why you want American soldiers to continue to die? That's not very patriotic, you know...

We already won. We beat Sadam. We discovered there were no WMD's, no Al Qaeda connection, and there was no plot by Sadam to attack the USA with terrorist attacks. The Iraqi does not show up half the time. We already won. Lets get out, and go back to Afghanistan (where we should have been looking for Al Qaesa in the first place.
