Anyway, my friend told me that there are certain type of players which support multiple region DVDs, like the JVC which I've just bought. When I checked the Amazon.com page, it said that certain type of DVD you've choose CANNOT be played, but it never mentioned on what kind of player. Where can I get the correct information?

A region locked DVD player can only play DVDs of that region. In other words, someone who lives in the US most likely has a Region 1 DVD player, restricting that person to playing either Region 1 DVD's or multiregion DVDs.

A region free DVD player can play DVDs from any region. If, as you say, your DVD player can play DVDs from multiple regions, then you don't have to worry about the region restrictions. Rent/buy to your heart's content.
