I am interested in joining the Air Force Security Forces, but have recently heard that Army MP's are trained better.

As a retired Air Force Security Forces Master Sergeant, I'm naturally biased towards my own service. But in all fairness I will say that each organiztion is very simliar, each have their own missions that challenge them in their own way, and each does a spectacular job at whatever mission they face.

Both are involved in mlitary law enforcement and police work.

It depends on which service you like better. Since the Army is the larger of the other services, promotions are faster thus making more money.

With everything else being even I think I would take the one that offered faster promotions.

Many of the military services have joint training now. I think the training is about even in both services, as neither would send a person to preform a job without knowledge enough to be successful.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

Im not sure about the army MP's, but im in the AF Security Forces. We deal with on base law enforcement, Air base defense, nuclear weapon security, dog handling, we have special tactics guy's (SWAT). So does the army, so the only difference is guarding nuclear weapons which is a Airforce and Navy job.

USAF risk-free practices forces has extra coaching and that they get to placed on a funky berret. They get to assert the army seals conflict cry hooyah and that they go on extra patrols with infantry. Cons of the two are you're unlikely to be nicely cherished whilst your handing out tickets for the main stupid crap. My 0.2 cents, take it for what that's worth.
