Kung Fu.
I honestly do not think that ninjitsu exists outside of Hollywood. Those turtles did more to raise its profile than anything. I live in SE Asia, travel a bit, and have never heard of a ninja school. I haven't been to every mountain or valley yet, but I am pretty much satisfied. By the way most schools in Asia don't really operate under a name system, like Uncle Po's Ninja School.
Qi Gong is the real Chinese system that most people think of when traveling to Japan to seek out the elusive Ninja school. I have no doubt that someone in Japan is cashing in on this though.
Kung Fu is a real discipline. It looks graceful and has some practical applications.

First, it's ninjutsu, not "ninjitsu." I hate that perversion of the Japanese language! >_<
Second, while I personally prefer kung fu, it depends on what you're looking for in an art. Kung fu focuses around fighting, while ninjutsu has many applications, such as stealth, infiltration, disguise, persuasion, "metaphysical arts," etc. Also, while ninjutsu's still around, very few schools for it exist, and even fewer in the United States. You'll have a much harder time finding a ninjutsu dojo than a kung fu school.

It's Ninjitsu because though many people believe it no longer exist. It is still practised in many places around the world and there is one place in the mountains of Je Sung Du where there is a temple of monks devoted to the art.Its also a very fun art as long as you are willing to work hard and put lots of effort in to it.
Bye hope you choose Ninjitsu.

Definitely Kung Fu. Kung Fu still exists. Ninjitsu is a dead art. It hasn't existed in more than 100 years.

CMA (kung fu or chinese martial arts) = while often taught poorly and without resisting opponents. (IE: unrealistically)
vs. a style where people are basically LARPing (live action role playing)?
Are we talking LARPing CMA (where they dress up in pajamas and pretend to practice "the deadly" strikes that kill you with one hit) or ninjitsu (where they basically do the same thing).
since you asked which is more FUN not more EFFECTIVE I guess you aren't talking about a real CMA class where they train properly and actually try to hit each other and learn real strikes and techniques.
I would say that which LARPing class is more fun depends on whether you like wearing chinese or japanese pajamas.

NINJUTSU!!!!!. Not only is it not a dead art it is the best art to learn. I am a chunein LvL ninja at my school and can take down several people at once with a single Jutsu. I also train under a man who has been doing it ever since he could walk.
Pick Ninjutsu, it rules. If you have trouble finding a school go to ask.com, I found a lot of them there.

Ninjitsu is more fun, but do not take it for granted. It is a degerous weapon if it is used incorrectly!!

The best thing for you to do is find out for yourself.
All the self proclaimed experts can tell you all day which is better.
Which one interests you and which one will work for you is for you to decide.
Most all Martial Arts have their merit so do not be jaded by others personal opinions, find out for yourself.
