Looking for one with a 16" barrel, flat top receiver, and retractable stock. I'm thinking about the Rock River Arsenal LAR-10 but I wanted to get some additional input before I make a purchase. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Best? I think there's only one right now and you already named that. I presume you already have the 308 lower? It's not the same as the standard one, for those reading this if not for you, because the 7.62x51 won't fit in the mag well where the 5.56x45 goes. They use FAL magazines.

The AR-10 costs way more than that. You sure you wouldn't like a nice DS Arms FAL? Both of those will blow your budget though.

Rock River.

I would say Armalite, which is what I have. But they put thread-lock on their barrels, so you can't change the flash hider or do certain repairs unless you send the entire upper off to Armalite. It came back and didn't fit the lower as well as it first did (called play). But overall it's a nice gun.
