On the backs of my upper arms, my skin is all bumpy. I don't know if they're zits or plugged up pores or what, but they are very dry feeling and they are so ugly! It looks like spots all over the backs of my arms. I've tried scrubbing them off in the shower, putting lotion on them...everything! What IS this? My sister has it too! It's been like this for years and years. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

Remember people, it has been this way for YEARS, so I know it's not what clothes I'm wearing or what laundry detergent I use

I have this too, and I forget the fancy-schmancy name my doctor gave it...but basically - it's very very dry skin! I have it on my upper arms and my upper legs....I had it for YEARS and went to every dermatologist I could get in to see...
then FINALLY one of them figured it out - sensitive skin and DRY skin!!!!
You have to switch to a softer brand of soap - preferably one with a moiturizer - but it this still irritates - you may have to switch to glycerin altogether - no scent and no lye!
Then moisturize moisturize moisturize! with the best moisturizer you can get your hands on...I like Neutorgena products the best, but this is something you'll have to try for yourself....
and I'm serious when I say moisturize - morning, noon and night! Or move to an extremely HUMID climate like I did, and you'll only have to moisturize half as much!

It sounds very much like you are wearing clothing that is tight on your arms and not allowing the perspiration to evaporate and clogging the pores. Check and see if your sleeved clothes have polyester in them. This could be the culprit. If you can get something 100% cotton it would make a big difference, even if you wear it under your main garment with the poly in it. Keeping the area dry and airy will clear up the problem. Why don't you see a dermatoligist. If they're redish color, then they might be just dried up skin begging for help. If regular use of lotion hasn't helped, then try looking up various skin disease symptoms. You may just have a allergic reaction to the things around you.

I have the same thing but never thought about inquiring about it. I exfoliate and lotion blah blah. Nothing seems to help. I look forward to any good answers.

like some ppl mentioned it would be better if u saw a doctor. i suffer from ezcema, and dermatologists didn't help, i eventually went to a homeopath and that worked for me - castor oil applied directly to the skin, homeopathic meds, and taking flax seed oil capsules all helped!
good luck

From what I can tell nearly everyone has the same thing. I use a loofah then a good moisturizer and it makes a big difference.

Are you overweight? Because i've noticed a lot of people that are a few pounds above their recommended weight have that.
