I need the make something like a telescope with 11-15 different tubes that fit together snuggly and each have the same wall thickness. They need to all be made of the same kind of metal. The smallest should be no smaller than 1/2" in diameter.

The thinnest tubing you can find in that size is the telescoping brass tubing sold (in the states) by K&S Engineering at hobby and hardware stores. It has a wall thickness of 0.014 (just under a 64th of an inch as the tube diameters change by 1/32" to telescope and there has to be some clearance. http://www.ksmetals.com/ if you have to hunt down a source. Although K&S makes tubes up to just over 5/8", some stores only stock an assortment that stops at 1/2"
Do-IT-Best online may be able to help. Well, nope, they seem to have all other K&S.
http://www.hobbylinc.com/prods/rda.htm shows it and others show up with 'brass round tubing' in Google search.

Why so many separate sections ? It sounds like it be unstable and difficult to align.
