A few years ago I met a nice guy, Sam, while dating another. Sam has been anxiously waiting for me to break up with "other" guy. I finally have, and Sam wants us to be a couple. I love hanging around Sam and going out with him, but I do not feel that "zing" of romance when I'm with him. I like him, think he's smart and capable of being a great boyfriend, but I just don't feel anything romantic for him. I'm trying, but it isn't happening. He gets mad when I try to date other guys because he feels I ought to be his. He feels that God brought us together.

I'm not sure whether to trust my feelings or not. I've been wrong in the past. Should I continue with Sam, hoping that those romantic feelings grow? Right now, I cannot even think about holding his hand, let alone anything more. We are both middle aged. I ought to grab this chance at romance, but the thought of being intimate with him just makes me cringe. Help!

You cannot make yourself love someone! No one can! If you are not attracted to Sam you cannot make yourself. The relationship will be a disaster if you do! Please think about what you want! There are so many more men out there!! You just haven't found that guy yet! Let Sam down gently!

This ekes of Fatal Attraction but who knows. I would stay friend, if a relationship develops which is mutually conducive for both then jump in if not just stick your toes in to check the waters every now and then.

follow your feelings if you are not ready and you know you don't have the same feelings he have for you then stop messing around. Tell him how you feel. Be honest with yourself or all you are going to end up doing is cheating on him or something if you two get together

If you don't feel that spark now, you will never feel it. Just be friends with him and don't lead him on.
