Start with over the counter, any brand prenatals, and after your first dr. appt. ask for the prescription kind.

I got a prescription for prenatal vitamins b/c the ones I went and bought at walmart weren't even close to good enough - after I got on the prescription vitamins I felt 1000% better than I did on the others!

My daughter took Flintstone vitamins on the advice of her doctor. Look at the vitamin content of both prescription and over the counter. Prescription vitamins are a waste of money unless you are covered 110% by your medical ins.

Go to a health food store and get your prenatal vitamin. Be careful and get one that is 100% natural and does not contain pharmaceutical coating. I got one that I thought would be good and it had the coating on it and it made me very sick. Ask at the health food store they will recommend and talk to you about the different choices they have.

The better ones are the prescription kind. They are about $30 -$60 for a 90-day supply. Go to your OB/GYN and see what he recommends. I have heard that Primacare One and OB complete are very good and mild.

I take Materna. You need to take a prenatal vitamin with Folic Acid in it.

I just went to the store and baught the store kind. Then once I got a doctor I had her give me a some but i think they are all the same.

You should just try one, and make sure they don't make you sick. I used some from GNC for one pregnancy and some cheap ones from the drug store for another. My doc kept giving me prescription, but all the pill smelled like vanilla and made me vomit!

Call yourOB/GYN. If you do not already have one, you should find one ASAP. They will tell you which ones you should take.
