Yes, with salt, though. As I bite I add salt, I do that with apple's too.

Absolutely! Only ones from gardens though--not the awful hot house tomatoes you buy at the grocery store. Those are honestly about as crunchy as apples!
Nothing better than picking a tomato straight off the vine, brushing the dirt off, and chowing down! Sometimes if they're really large and juicy (beefsteaks, for example) I'll have to stand over the sink with them. Tomato in one hand, salt shaker in the other, and a grumbling stomach just waiting for the first bite. :)

I, too, have heard it's possible to eat tomatoes "like apples". However, I don't eat them that way -- sliced or sauced for me. In fact, I don't eat apples "like apples" -- sliced or sauced, too. Hey, wait a minute, I do eat tomatoes like apples!

P.S.: What's with all the "Bad Answer" Ratings on all of the answers for this question? Hey, most people don't eat tomatoes like apples; however, some people do. What?! They're not suppose to?

I know a lot of people who do. I love tomatoes, but I'd never eat them like an apple.

Well seeing as a tomaotoe is a FRUIT then yes people can eat them as an apple ive seen it lots of people in my extended family do. My cousin comes up all the times and takes tomatoes from the fridge and eats them like qan apple. personally i dont as i dont like the texture much. however you could always be smart and say 'yes they do as like with apples you can slice them you can slice tomatoes and eat them' lol, youd probably be called a clever dick but hey

Like Bill C here, I don't eat apples like "apples" I like to slice my apples and I only like gala or green apples. I pop cherry tomatoes whole, but I don't eat tomatoes like "apples" too messy. I do like sliced tomatoes with fresh basil and balsamic vinegar and tomato, mozzarella sandwich with olive oil, basil on crusty Italian bread; also tomato and mayo sandwiches on white toast (provolone optional)

I usually do if I've grown tomatoes in my yard that year. The ones you get in the supermarket just don't have as much flavour and need salad dressing or salt, etc to give them some taste.
