when I right click on it and select DELETE, about 10 seconds later i get a pop-up that says Access Denied: Program may be in use..... I have verified that the program is not running and not being used by another program.

My question is: supposedly, there is a program called something like Unblocker.exe, that forces termination of a program so that it may be deleated. Does anyone know what this program is called?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should uninstall programs then delete any residual files associated with it if need be.

In the Control Panel click on Add Remove Programs. Find the one you want to uninstall.

You can hit the following keys Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up the Task Manager. Under the Processes tab you can determine if the associated task is running and stop it by hitting End Task button.

Delete a program? Do you mean uninstall? Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. From there you can uninstall the program. If it's not listed, it might be a virus. Update your virus definitions and run a scan, download spybot search and destroy and run that, or buy something like SpySweeper. Sounds like what you're running into might be malware.
