I, too, decided to do magnets. When I looked into the cost of them-I was shocked! So, I made my own! You can use a program like Microsoft Publisher to create them. You can add your own picture and text. Or, if you are lacking on time or a program to design them-go to a local college and see if you could get a graphic design student to design them for you. Most students can use the experience.
I bought the magnet paper at Office Max. It was a great thickness and was for an inkjet printer. It was $7.50 for 5 sheets. (I bought 3 packs=$22.00) I created mine to be 4" X 3" and got 6 on one sheet. This gave me 90 magnets for $22.00. They are simple to cut and I didn't even run my printer out of ink!
Really, if you are looking for a cost effective way to have magnets-and quickly-you can do them yourself. It only took me about an hour and a half to print them all and get them cut.
Also, the magnet paper is very durable-they dry to be water-resistant! Amazing stuff!
Good Luck and Congrats!
(Feel free to email if you are thinking of trying to do it-I can give you some step-by-step instructions and a template for Publisher!)

Hi there! I know that there are many websites out there that do the magnets. However, I was afraid that they would come looking as though they were made at home so I am using www.magnetstreet.com to create our magnets. They are very professional looking and we are also going have them do thank you cards with a wedding picture on them. They are a little more pricey than e-may, but are will worth it (about $1.20 a magnet for 100). They will also send you samples of magnets and thier cards as well as a catolog. Also if you don't like any of the desgins they offer they will let you design your own!!

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

My friend got this idea the night before the wedding. They bought business cards and magnet sheets and did it themselves on the computer and with like 3 people helping it took less then an hour to do 70 magnets after they were printed.

Google wedding magnets. There are so many sites that can do it for you. Also try the knot.com, they might have some links, but your best bet is to google it cause then you will get a bunch of sites and you can compare prices and see which ones you like better. Everyone will have different styles. Good luck and good luck on the upcoming nuptials

You can find really nice, different magnets on Ebay. For our engagement I used the Kim Anderson Save the Date magnets. I got about 100 of them for like $50 or something like that. That's a great idea!
