1. Find a hair stylist that LOVES long hair. They are very hard to find because long hair is boring to cut. I have had hair stylest that didn't really care for long hair and they gave me a "trim" by cuting 5 inches of hair off!!!
My hair stylist now cuts very little off. Sometimes I almost think that she should cut more off :-)
You will know if a hair stylest loves long hair if they do extra things with you hair if they have time. My hair stylist sometimes flat irons my hair because she has time and wants to play with my hair.
If you really do have alot of splint ends the stylist might have to take more off than you want to make your hair look heathly if you really have alot of splint ends. That is ok. Because your goal is long, beautiful, healthly looking hair, not just long hair.

2. Get it trimmed offen to avoid getting alot of split ends in the first place. I get mine trimmed every 3 months. It really makes your hair look heathlier. I almost think that it grows faster when it is trimmed. I guess that it just doesn't break as much when it is trimmed so then it is longer.

3. don't blow dry your hair unless you really have to.

4. Don't use a flat iron very often.

5.Don't use the really cheap hair shampoo. I tried the 99 cent shampoo and it really dried out my hair. I use Aussi myself

6. Always use conditioner

7. On top of the normal conditioner I also use the spray in leave-in hair conditioner. After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I spray the leave-in hair conditioner. I use Aussi but have also use panten.

8. Be very careful of dying or coloring your hair. It can really ruin long hair. Also growing it out with long hair takes forever! Same with a perm.

good luck

You are going to at least get a trim. A trim every couple of months is really good for your hair and even helps it stay healthy which helps it grow faster. You also should condition your hair alot. Make sure you get the ends when you are in the shower and maybe try this. Before you go into the shower coat your hair with conditioner for about 10 minutes and then go in the shower and rinse it and just continue with your normal hair routine. You might want to cut down if you use any heated products like straighteners, or hair dryers, stuff like that.
I hope this helps!

A hair follicle that has a cut up end is broken previous fix. in case you haven't any longer have been given the cut up ends decrease off they'll eat there way up the hair shaft like a %guy. you will finally end up with cut up ends from the suggestions to the roots. there is not any longer a shampoo/ conditioner which will fix cut up ends. the only fix for a spit end is to have it decrease off. on a similar time as there are shampoo and conditioners out that make the declare of repairing cut up ends all they do is positioned the two a wax or plastic coating over the hair shaft; while the coating wears off the spit is back. I certainly have been a qualified, training cosmetologist for 36 years +. desire this permits.

The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them. A split end will get worse if not removed. You can get Tigi Split End Mender but that won't get rid of them, just help stop them from splitting anymore. Just cut your hair. It will grow back and if you get it conditioned every month that will help keep the hair healthy.

Get a trim - 1/4 of an inch won't do any harm and will keep your hair from being weighed down. Also try TIGI Bed Head's Ego Boost. It works wonders!

Unless you want your hair to break, and the spilt ends to get higher and higher, you'll need a trim. There's nothing wrong with giving it a healthy trim, a few inches, and it WILL grow back, I promise.

Get a couple of inches taken off every 4-6 weeks or so, and use a split ends serum, (Schwartzkopf is good). Mine are now gone thanks to that! Also, if you blow dry your hair, make sure you put a blow dry hair conditioning cream on first, as heat is notorious for split ends. If you're in the Uk, take a trip to Superdrug. If you're in the states, get yourself down to Walmart!! They have one heck of a selection!!

it's better you cut the split ends now rather then leave them there and they have to cut more off later. I usaually tell the person who's cutting my hair that i want to keep the length and just give it a trim and i usually do long layers.

i used to have hair down to my butt, until i donated 14 inches to Locks Of Love this winter, and i had the same problem. just get it trimmed a little every few months. it won't drastically change your hair length, and it will look a lot healthier.
it you want to keep your hair looking healthy, get it trimmed every few months, and keep from using hair dryers and straighteners too often, because they will dry out your hair.

hope this helps!

You just need to get it trimmed maybe a quarter to a half inch every 2-3 months
