When they are ready they will use the word you use for it. My 2 yr son yells POTTY, POTTY, POTTY. He cannot tell me pee or poop and the majority of the time when we get there he does not want to sit or it happened already. We have made it a few times. I'm just impressed that he's interested this early. He watches big brother and big sister and wants to do everything they do (the good and the bad).

Our first was not interested until after 3 yrs and little girl was about 2 1/2 (again watching big brother).

Take care - and be ready for some spills! :-)

Well, not every child can tell by 2yrs of age, but they eventually know because they have associated the "urge" with the inevitable wetting/pooping. Just like you! You know when you've got to use the toilet because your body tells you that you have to go.

Because they're intelligent human children with brains, and not cattle.
