Cry.... It helps to actually embrace the depression and just go through the cycle. If the cycle doesn't break after about two weeks of fully embracing the depression, then it's time to see a counselor. The biggest problem with depression is that people feel guilty for feeling that way, or feel that they shouldn't. So they ignore the feelings, or try to rationalize them away, which in turn, intensifies the feelings and makes them last longer. Just go through it, you'll be ok.

Yes! It hurt BAD! It was like electricty up and down my spine.
It went away on it's own within three months.
Try Omega 3

A diet high in Omega 3 oil can help those suffering from depression. Research published in The Lancet in 1998 showed that countries whose populations consume large amounts of oily fish had low rates of depression. Conversely, countries where people did not eat a lot of fish had significantly higher rates of depression.
In the interview Dr. Richardson told of her own study in which a young schizophrenic patient, who refused conventional medication, was practically symptom free after only 2 months of taking Omega 3 supplements. Both doctors agreed that this was 'quite remarkable'.

Hey! depression can actually cause physical pain, and often times that is when people go to the doctor and realize they have depression. The best thing to do is to call you general physican and get a recomendation to a psych or find a psych on your own. depression is actually very treatable, if you go and seek help. and its not all to bad, check with your insurance (which may be why asking your doctor is best)

First talk to your doctor. Medication can help-don't feel like you are weak, or feel guilty about asking for medication.
Another theory I have is wait another day, it is bound to get better.
Talking to someone about your feelings is also the best way to get better.
But yes, depression is a feeling all by itself-it feels like pressure, agony, and there is no relief in sight. I assure you that if you see a doctor that is the start of getting better!

You need to see a Dr. and tell him what you just told us. Yes I have been so depresed it hurts and it is no fun. If you get no where with your Dr. he should put you on an anti-depressant and anxiety meds if you need it. Then see a Therapist, you should see one anyway. Alot of us have been where you are, And speaking for myself I am on Effexor (antidepressant) and Xanax (anxiety) and I'm fine. Don't get me wrong I still get depressed over certain things, but not for long. Good Luck to you

When I was at my deepest depths of depression, it was very painful.
I kept a journal. I wrote, and wrote, and I cried. I also picked myself up, and realized that I have a lot of things I need to do with my life.
I promise that it will end. Please see your doctor, and try medication & talk therapy.

i often feel like that, and NO suicide is definately not the answer. im having some difficulty with this myself, but you should try talking to someone you really trust. if you can work up the courage, try talking to a professional. if you dont want to do that, try to make more time for yourself. relax, do more things you like.
