Ok. Here's the deal. It started exactly a month ago. I started by getting sick to my stomach... didnt' throw up, but felt like I could. That went away adnd came back a couple times. I haven't had it for about 2 1/2 weeks now. But throughout this I've had HORRIBLE congestion. Which seems to have only gotten worse. Right now, as gross as it sounds, I feel like I'm drowning in flem. My cough is so bad that I almost choke myself. I also did probably the stupidest thing and went snowboarding the other day. I banged myself up pretty good so now i'm sore... but then today I got a shooting pain in my left side right around the lower rib cage. It went away when I laid down but came back later on.
Does anybody have any idea what I might have??? Severe sinus infection? Upper respiratory? those are just my guesses... but if anybody has any idea it'd be appreciated since i can't really afford to go to teh doctor right now.

i'm not pregnant... i'm a virgin. so that rules that out
i have had less of an appetite. but no blood exiting my body in any other than normal means (like a cut or something).
i know i should go to a doctor... but when i say i can't afford it... i mean it. i can't... long term with payments or short term. i'm working on trying to get health insurance, but haven't found anything that covers me the way i need but still is affordable enough.
anybody know of any natural remedies that could work? personally... i've had a slight hunch at pneumonia too.... so thats very possible.

When I got pregnant with my son, I felt sick the whole 3rd month. I never threw up, but I felt like I would. It wasn't constant, as in 24/7, but it was at least every other day, sometimes the whole day. I also got a severe chest cold which felt a lot like what you described. Snowboarding was not the greatest of ideas. I had "growing pains" in my stomach and sides starting around 3-4 months. At any rate, you need to go to the ER. They can't turn you away, no matter what. Get checked out now. If you actually are pregnant you need to know. If you aren't, then something else major is going on.

They call it walking pneumonia, in other words you can still function, but you need the meds to get rid of it. Your stomach is probably sick from swallowing all that phlem. If your appetitite isn't there and you look pale in the mirror its for sure. Only a doctor can give you the stuff to make it all go away. Head over to an urgent care and get the meds!

It could be mono. The nausea, phlegm...pain in left side could be spleen. Go to emergency room at a public hospital...if you cannot afford the bills then you can make an apt. with the hospital social worker and work out a payment plan. Don't mess with your health. Something like Mono or pneumonia can definitely kill you.

You could have pneumonia. Are there any clinics in your area? Have you had a fever? Is there any blood in your sputum? If yes to those you really should see a doctor. Drink plenty of fluids wether you see the doctor or not. I highly recommend you go to the doctor.

How long are you going to let yourself feel rotten? I don't know why people on here wait so long to see a Dr. or E.R. The answerers before me are right - the e.r. can't turn you away. You could be screwing around with something really bad, so take a paperback to get you thru the wait and GO !!!

It almost sounds like pneumonia. You should definitely go and get it checked out! That can be fatal, especially if not recognized before the symptoms become more severe. And NO MORE SNOWBOARDING!

Go to the emergency room. They have to treat you even if you have no money and no insurance. (Or even insurance with high copay). Sounds like it might just be bad enough to qualify.
Also, sometimes hospitals have free clinics. Check around!

It sounds like pneumonia or pleurisy. You need to see a Dr. ASAP. You are risking your life.
