Try openoffice. It is the best alternative to MS Office and it is "Free".
Download it here:
http://www.openoffice.org/

There should not be any problems in opening the document but some times the formatting gets lost...

OpenOffice as mentioned and if you need a layout program that works like PageMaker there is Scribus, also free. For Mac/Linux/Win.

OpenOffice is great but it won't save a PowerPoint style project that M$ PowerPoint opens. Everything else is the same.

Download a free trial version of office 2007 from www.microsoft.com. You will have enough features to open your document and the trial runs for a reasonable length of time.

Hi Hard Doodle,

Sure, get open office. It's free and is a great program.

Go here to get it - http://www.openoffice.org/

Open office is compatible with Microsoft Office files. It is one of the best freebies out there.
