Wow, you guys put the long in long-distance. Well, if you're both willing to be long-distance and both of you trust each other, I'd say it should work, but you guys need trust. I wouldn't suggest the long-distance relationship though. It's harder on both of you. I hope this helps.

I have been with a girl for 7 1/2 years. We were forced to date for about 2 years when she was living in Europe and I was living here in the U.S. It is very difficult, but it can be done.

I've been dating a man in New Jersey for 8 months now, I am in Ontario, Canada. He comes here to visit me for 2 weeks out of every month, and I am absolutely in love with him. It gets tough because we miss eachother a lot, but he is working towards moving here in 3 months. It all depends. I'd say those people who "date" people they've never even met in person are ridiculous, because you need to know someone personally to know if you love them...there are lots of creeps out there, and you just never know. I have been one of the lucky ones I guess, because I trust this man with my life, he is the best thing that's ever happened to me.

By dating I am assuming you mean communicating, and of course then it's "yes". If you rarely see each other in person, it is unrealistic to expect either of you to remain true to the other, as much as you may want to.
