I mean the ''he's the one'' stuff. As a man I find it somewhat overpowering/desperate. Or is it me???

I meant the constant rush to seek 'the one'. A desire to measure everything against a theoretical ideal.

No such thing as a perfect man etc etc...

For about 99% of women YES they take EVERYTHING too seriously. I am the kind of woman that falls in the other 1% catagory... the women who fall into the 99% even make me sick. Not EVERY woman is like that but the majority are. There aren't very many other girls out there like me. However, it can also depend on the man . Some guys like that kind of stuff too... but it still makes me sick one way or the other.

Women are looking for "the one" but you'd be surprised how many men are out here looking for the same thing. I don't think that it's desperation in all cases. Sometimes it's that Biological clock ticking. There's only so many childbearing years that a woman has when she can safely have a child. Men can have children at any age. Perhaps you're just a bit afraid of commitment? I think women also don't want to feel as if they are waisting their life on a relationship that is not going to lead anywhere. Why spend years of your life with someone, and then want to kick yourself later for all the time and effort you put into a failed relationship.

It can be overbearing sometimes yes. Desperate well you can only say that if shesd going too fast and wants the whole marriage and baby thing!!

I would say to any woman, patience is a virtue and whats the point in stressing>? If hes truely the one things will happen when they happen...

I ask my friend if she thinks her boyfriend or whoever she is dating at the time if he is "the one" for her... It's because I'm the romantic type--finding true love. It just means she's really into you. Anything can happen, but yes it totally depends on the situation and how long you two have been together. Honestly, it's just you.

Marriage and building a life with someone is important to me. To be dating someone for years and not ever marry them, would be a waste of time for me. The dating time was while I was young, the rest of my life I want to spend with one person, and I want to be 80 and looking back on the last 50 years we spent together and all that we did / happened to us as a family. Its the stuff that life is made of (for me), so of course I'm going to take it seriously.

Hey this is Kayla, No woman don't take things to seriously. We're just really emotional, because of all our monthly things, and guys may not know it, but even when we act ll perfect...We're not. We really hurt and cry more than people think. Sometimes for NO reason AT ALL!!!!! so yeah... I hope this answered your question

I think we tend to take things seriously but are pretty fun loving creatures - although if you are anything like my guy he can be joking and turn serious the very next minute - his call so to speak - however, you seem to acknowledge the difference in moods so you are getting there.

As a general rule of thumb, any time you suspect an entire class of people (in this case, "women") of uniformly acting a certain way, it's actually you.
