In reality, thousands of troops believe in what they are doing in Iraq. Democrats just want our military to fail in order to make Bush look bad. If our troops didn't want to be there, why are there still thousands of people joining our military every month?

After reading most of these answers, I would have to actually say MOST of you don't know what the hell you are talking about! There are so many brave people out there who are willing to sacrifice everything to GIVE you people the freedom to assume they don't want to give their life for a war you THINK is a lost cause. Marines= HONOR COURAGE COMMITMENT! You ever notice that when they DO show soldiers on the news, it is the ones who CRY about how they HAD to do their duty. IT IS THE MILITARY PEOPLE! You will be sent overseas! Especially if you choose INFANTRY! Sure, most COWARDS don't want to be there. I know so many people who have done 2 or more Tours in Iraq. I know a lot of people who have been to East Timor. Even Kosovo. I am one of the many who is willing to join and give up an easy way of life to ensure this world is a much safer place for my children and their children and I support anyone who doesn't COMPLAIN about doing their duty for this Country.

Because the president was not totally honest about the war. It is a civil war now, which has been going on for century. No one want to make our president look bad " because as an American he is my president". If I was you I would stop reading newspaper articles, looking at TV news show and look at this government you will find both parties have issue. If you want to talk about something what about the Veteran who have Fourth in wars and have to wait years to get their benefits.

Read the inscription on the Veteran Affairs building in Washington and you'll understand the game that is played on the service person and veteran. You have to understand no bid contracts and who made money on the war. Off the lives of young men and women and so many people in in country think that freedom is free. It is not.

Many Democrats are still living in the 60s when there was a draft. Many still think the military is like the TV program "MASH". The idea that there are people who want to be professional soldiers is also foreign to them and they think of war as if it were some great disease that should be eradicated. Many Democrats are truly naive about the dangers that exist in other countries and that kisses and hugs can solve all problems.

So basically, what you're saying is that all of the men and women who are currently serving their country proudly and who are currently signing up are all THRILLED and HAPPY to be going off to a war zone???

I have yet to meet a single person in the military that is LOOKING FORWARD to going off to fight.

I would bet you all the money in the world that 99% of the men and women currently serving, and that 99% of the men and women currently signing up, would rather be home right now than ANYWHERE fighting.

That's not to say that they want to just "run away" and say "to hell with it". But 99% of the people in the military would much rather serve and never be deployed because there's no reason to be deployed.

Being in the military doesn't equal warmongering.

There you go again making blanket statements and generalizations. That shows you know nothing about it.

There are some troops who want to leave. Everyone would rather be home than somewhere like that. Duty, however says they stay until ordered home by the Commander-in-Chief. Democrats don't want our military to fall. Just like Republicans we want success for our people. If there is any failure on George W. Bush's part it is of his own making.

So please do some research next time. And don't make such ridiculous, generalized statements it makes you look stupid. Are you stupid? I trust you are shaking your head no. So, take my advice and get your ducks in a row next time you ask a question. Know your subject before you open your mouth about it. As Benjamin Franklin once opined, "It is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

Bush does not need any help from me to look bad. He has messed up every thing he touched. Remember when he said, "Mission Accomplished"? I took him at his word. The Iraqis hate us. 100,000 innocents have been killed because Bush wanted to cram democracy down their throat. The truth is the military is having increasing problems making their quotas every month and is automatically extending tours of duty.

The troops need to stay in Iraq until we win, whether it takes another year, or another 10 years. The American military is not made up of quitters, and Im certain they want to stay until they kill all the terrorists and assure democracy is stable. The one of 2 bad apple cry babies who cant handle it are the norm in every army- but they are in the miniority. The toops want to stay in Iraq, the president wants them to stay.
If they pull out, the terrorist will attack us here..

For all the thousands who believe in the cause there are people who don't want to be there anymore and keep getting their tours extended. Also, it's not like there is a mad rush to join the military. I bet most of the people joining now either wanted to long before the war or are doing it for the benifits like college money. I believe that Democrats don't want our president to fail they just want a new approach to what we are doing.
Just a Note: I believe in our troops, not the war..

FYI, Bush already looks bad. We just want to save the lives that haven't already been wasted in a pointless war! Also, why do you think that the Army, Marines, etc. have been pimping themselves so much on TV, etc.? Because young people aren't running to enlist. The few that do, do so for more personal reasons (family tradition, no money for college, etc.), not because they believe in this stupid war.

You've solved the problem! Make deployment to Iraq voluntary! The few soldiers that don't want to be there can perform their duties elseware!
