They don't squeal as such, but air trapped between the shell and the body expands and makes a squeaking noise as it is forced betwen the gaps in the shell.

Lobsters do not scream or yell or make noise when you boil or steam them. However the water and air gets under their shells and does produce a high pitched sound. This is not the Lobster making these noises! The lobster is dead the second it hits the steamer or the water and most places clean the lobster before this which means you have to cut it open. They don't Squeal but if you're not quick enough to cover the pan they start swearing and they can be quite rude!!!

no but i imagine its terrible pain to die in boiling water. I don't eat them or snails cos of the way they kill/cook them. (am not vegitarian but I can't help feeling sry for snails and lobsters)

No they don't as they have no vocal chords. Sometimes there is a screaming sound but it is just air escaping from the shell.

there shell sometimes make a whistling noise which sometimes is mistaken for screeming but they die seconds after entering the water

whatever they do, they make a good meal!!!!boiling them OR putting them in a freezer wont minimise their pain!!!!its called survival & we sea food lovers do have to eat too!!!!
