Why in chocolate boxes?

...do they always give you the least amount of the best ones?

Yeah, hmmm...I always wondered that myself. I love chocolate and caramel and there's always only like one or two or them in a whole box of 25 chocolates. They always have those fruit filled one or the coconut one, those are the ones that are gross to me. I eat 2 or 3 chocolates out of a whole box of chocolates, what a waste! :-(

The mixes in each box are designed to appeal to a broad range of people... AND...many of these mixes are decades old. Tastes change so the mixes that appealed to your grandmother, don't always appeal to you. There is also a cost issue. Some items are less expensive. By including those, it keeps the overall price of the box down. Many good brands have different types of boxes like all caramels or all nuts.

I think so you buy more of that one box. Which makes absolutely no sense!!! If money and profits was their main concern, then they'd made excusive boxes and call them, "only the good stuff". I think it's pretty wasteful, actually. I mean, I don't buy these boxes but when I get one I eat the goodies and if no one else wants the baddies, I just toss it. They should cease production of bad chocolates and save that money for something worth while.

It's called "inducing trial".
Once you sample the good ones, you'll want to go for those in future. They always have more premium ones packaged differently from the others.
