Good job getting her tag number! Now she can be charged with a hit and run along with whatever the original ticket would have been.

She'll be charged with leaving the scene of an accident, which is a misdemeanor in most cases unless there were injuries or the damage is over a certain dollar amount (depending on state). Some places will suspend a license based on this, but I don't think that happens very often.
Give her information and the police report to your insurance company, let them go after her. Her company will jack her rates up through the roof. Not much else will happen to her, unfortunately..

You are describing half of the American population.
On your part, filing a report was the only thing you can do. If the woman has insurance, then it should pay for your damaged bumper. The cops have her license plate already and they know where she lives. If she borrowed the car, then the party that let her use it should pay for the damages. Hit and runs are a misdemeanor, which is a fee of $ 500.00 dollars and up, depending on the hit and run driver's convictions on her driving record or the severity of the accident.
On the other hand, don't let your anger stoop you so low to idiots who think that their "driving privileges" are a "right". I am 100 percent sure that you will have your justice. Let God deal with this vengeance. It is out of your hands now.

She would be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
Since there are no injuries involved I think that would be a misdemeanor violation and she may only get a ticket.
She may not of had insurance and that might have been the reason she ran.
You deserve to have your car fixed so I would advice you to contact an attorney about possibly bringing a civil suit against her.
Contact me and I can help you with an attorney that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

She can be charged for up to 3 offences:
1. Failing to report a traffic accident
2. Voluntorily remove accident vehicle without the permission from the authorised officer.
3. Failing to stop (hit & run) after an accident.
Of course she could also be charged for rashless or dangerous driving as she knocked onto the rear of your vehilce.

If this was in the USA, she will be charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Depending on whether she has a record or not, this is either a misdemeanor or a lower class felony. In addition, her insurance will most likely drop her.
However, be forewarned that she will most likely turn the tables on you and claim that she left because she feared for her life and her safety. Her evidence will be that you chased her! She will claim you were agressive and threatening. It could get ugly.

At minimum, she is looking at following too closely, leaving scene of accident, and more than likely since she fled the scene, she may have outstanding warrants for arrest, no insurance on car, invalid or suspended drivers license. I am glad you are okay, but still recommend getting checked out by a good chiropractor; soft tissue injuries are hard to detect initially, but considering you were stopped and she hit you from behind, your brain got a jolt against your skull as well.

Inform your insurance co. Get a copy of the police report send it in with the accident report. Don't worry you have no problems. It is better to report the accident than get into trouble.
