I know exactly what you are going through. It's very heartbreaking to get so excited about a baby, just to lose it. Most miscarriages happen early on, usually because something didn't go right when the cells were forming. If you have miscarried, take time to grieve for the child you have lost. Be mad, sad, or whatever you want. I miscarried twice before I got to have a successful pregnancy. I do sometimes think about what might have been, but when I hold my little girl, I know that things worked out the way they should have. Find comfort in knowing that you are ahead of the game when it comes to fertility--you know you can conceive and that's a wonderful thing.

Oh honey, I'm so sorry if it's true. Two minutes seems like a very short time to look for a heartbeat, and eight weeks is still an extremely small baby. I hope she just didn't do a good job, but it's hard to judge.

Best of luck on your next appointment. My prayers are with you!

I'm sorry, I hope that they are wrong. It could be that there is a heartbeat but that it's just not detectable yet. My dr. told me @ my 8wk checkup that we might not be able to hear it yet. He was right. We couldn't hear it at that point, but we did hear it later, and I gave birth to a healthy son. I hope this is the case with you. Did the technician or ob/gyn make this diagnosis? If it was the tech, then make sure to get your dr's opinion. And make sure they do a blood test. Please, get some emotional support you don't need to do this alone!
