I'm a gay male college student, and the last few times I've gone out to parties on campus I've ended up talking to / flirting with this guy. This most recently happened Saturday night. Last night (Sunday) he sent me an e-mail asking me if I wanted to have dinner on Thursday. I plan to say yes, but what is the appropriate amount of time to wait before replying?

As soon as you know you're free and really do want to spend time with this guy. Why play games? Have fun, be careful, get to know each other better. Who knows what will happen? I met my husband in a chatroom.

This is an interesting question because i've been wondering exactly the same thing ( in fact, i've got a few emails to answer myself, lol). I've heard that replying back within the hour you receive the email is too forward, but waiting longer than three days is giving your date the impression that you're not interested. I usually reply to mine the next day or two after I get them, so I can be sure they know i'm interested, while playing a little hard-to-get.
If I were you, I'd reply to his email today. :)

I suggest you answer his e-mail but not his request for a date. When you reply to the email, tell him that you'd love to go....If he can ask you out in person. Show some dignity and self-worth and this will move you up a notch in the dating game. This way you show him that A) yes, your interested and would like to go out and B) your more than just some internet fluff. As in any relationship, straight or gay, guys like thinking that they're getting something they can't have. They like the hunt, they like the chase. Make him work harder and make yourself worth the chase.

Excuse me, yet she sounds very immature to be round at the same time with her monosyllabic solutions even if or not they be verbal or textual content, and so on.
