Well, It is normal to feel pain when they are breaking the skin. And your jaw can hurt. It will continue to hurt until it shoves your other teeth forward (called crowding) Then it should stop hurting. But it will make your teeth crowed up front. If it is on the bottem, then they wont be noticeble. But if it is on the top it can be. Try to feel to see how close the wisdom tooth is to your other teeth. If they have a bit of space in between you should be fine. Just take some orejel to it. Or something that can numb it. But remember another thing it could be is that it has an infection in it. But you will be able to know this by: Coninuting to hurt. It just gets worst. You can eat. And your other tooth beside may start to hurt. If you dont have insurance you may want to find a clinic near you so they can pull it out. There are two different places you can go to. There is the kind of clinic that will pay 100% of it if you have no insurance and you make low income. Then there is the regular clinic that is for dentisty that they only charge you for your wages. (Which if you make close to nothing then you pay nothing) But they will ask for documentation like your bills and pay stubs. The other clinic wont ask for these. But it seems like these places are hard to find in your area. And a lot of places actually dont have them. I would say give it two weeks. If it still hurts then you may want to at least go in for an evaluation. Its the cheapest. Then they can tell you if it is infected or if it will cause serious damage to your other teeth. Remember over several years your jaw will start to form around with that tooth. Then it can change your facial features too. But that will take several years. I hope this helps... Also I work for an insurance company. If you have medical insurance, you need to check with your insurance plan but they normally cover hospital plans and medically necessary things. If so you may want to take a trip to the hosital as an outpatient. Wait until a sunday. And tell them that they are in pain. They can at least look at it for you and let you know if it is infected. Other times you may be able to find a dentist that will accept monthy payment plans, and will write a letter to your health insurance about how medically necessary it is to have this tooth pulled. There for your health insurance will pay for it. But you need that letter first and approved before pulling. P.S. Pulling these teeth are expensive. This is not including putting you to sleep while they do it. That alone will cost about $1000. Everything is too expensive these days.

Wisdom teeth can be very painful. If you can deal with the pain, I guess it's OK. Use BC or Goody Powders, they are more effective for this type of pain. Just know that there are options. I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled (all 4). One of them was coming in on a nerve and the pain was excruciating! I didn't have insurance at the time, but the office had a payment plan. I borrowed the money and made monthly payments until it was paid off. If your pain seems unmanageable, look into that. If you have no problems otherwise, just wait it out. Keep it clean with salt and warm water rinses. It is usually not dangerous as long as it isn't infected.

FYI, it was $3000.00 to get mine pulled. I made them knock me completely out. That was several years ago with an oral surgeon. I had them all taken out at one time. If you do find that you need to have them removed, I advise you do it all at once. It saves money as far as the anesthesia is concerned. Besides, once you go thru that kind of pain, you'll never want to do it again.

3rd molars, commonly known as "wisdom teeth" erupt when you are between 16 and 21 years of age. Alot of the times the are" impacted" which means that they wil not break the the gums or "surface". At this point I believe that you should visit a Dentist. Your first visit may cost no more than $50.00 which will include an exam and x-rays. Today, there are alot of dental offices which offer their own form of "dental insurance". or payment programs.
If you have medicaid.... Medicaid covers most extractions.

Take Advil for the pain and inflammation. Prepare a water and salt solution and wash your mouth for one minute to ease the pain and avoid infection ( just like mouth wash) Taking them out is not cheap. A surgeon has to do it and cost is in the thousands. The pain will subside once they are completely out. You still should have them removed once you can. ( may be get insurance, and wait until you can use it to do it- it'll be cheaper than paying out of pocket).
