To make it easier to d/l and if there is any corruption in one of the files, then you only need to re d/l the small file and not the big one.

mainly so u can burn them to cd.......each part is under 700mb which is the typical size of a cd. If the movie is 1 gig (for instance) they'll 1/2 it to make it equal on 2 cds...512 megs apiece...
