Whether they like it or not, DO NOT FEED THEM OLIVES. I adopted two older rescued cats a few years ago. They were each 10 years old. A little note came with them, saying how much they liked olives and that the owner gave them olives every day. They were both dead within three months. Olives are too salty and they can screw up a cat's digestive track. Both cats I had died of kidney & liver failure. When I told the vet about the olives, he was shocked.

It is not a direct poison, but it will accumulate in their system and mess them up.

i might choose to nicely known why they try this. yet merely some cats have that reaction to olives. I had one cat, Henry, who went unquestionably wild if we gave him a green olive, yet I had yet another cat, Joe, who had unquestionably no pastime in green olives.

its the salt that is in the brine (pickled juice) that they crave, like the little toddler you try to take the piece of candy they took and try to eat so fast right before dinner time.
