F-22 no sweat... I love future weapons, the guy is so melodramatic... "I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of this..."
F-22 is a freaking killing machine... 108 to 0 kill ration, estimated to have a 10:1 chance against the new Russian PAK-FA

One of the coolest weapons is the next version of the grenade launcher in development the MK 32. The people who use it call it " The Six Pack Attack." It holds six grenades, and the thing has special grenades just for it. One is the Hunter round. Not only does it brakes down the door, it throws it at the guy behind it. It also has camera, flare, Infrared, and flash-bang grenades.
Also their is the X307 it can fire ether a 25mm Grenade, 25mm cannon shots or be a .50Cal MG! It has less recoil than the Mk19.

If by cool, you mean effective then an AK47 is the coolest, its been able to cause considerable damage to numerous better organised and equipped armies over the years in the hands of untrained teenagers..... vietnam, korea and most recently iraq.

The military has all kinds of neat stuff, grenade launchers, machine guns, recoiless rifles. My personal favorite is the .50 cal. Those rounds will rip a person in half. It shoots up to 3,000 meters. It's bad!

Watch Future Weapons.. some crazy stuff is being made right now.
"Metal Storm" is pretty impressive to watch, has a fire rate of a million rounds a minute.

25mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun fires 200 rds per minute variety of ammunition, including Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot-Tracer, High Explosive Incendiary(that starts fires and frags your ace), and the Armour Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot-Tracer rounds.

My personal opinion is the soldier himself. There are a lot of cool weapon systems out there, but they are only as good as the soldier(s) operating them.

for small arms I would say the Mark 19, belt feed full auto 40mm grenade launcher 400 rounds per minute

All weapons are only as good as the soldier/sailor/airman/marine using them.......with that said and with the best training-----it could be any combination
